OK, so the updates may not be very frequent.....
Hi again, I've managed to make it down to the internet cafe. Unfortunately opening times do not really coincide with my free time, so updates may be a bit sporadic!!!
On the positive side (well, for me anyway) it's snowing!! It snowed last sunday and was then ridiculously cold (-20!) but we have still needed snow, and it's finally arrived....just in time for the new set of guests.
Life is fun and interesting, and I have been getting out skiing..... I spent all day Wednesday with one of the social skiers (ie someone who knows where they're going and how to ski!) so had my own personal ski guide for the day, which was fab! We also went across the Vanoise Express, which is the new 200 person, double-decker cable car which links La Plagne to Les Arcs......it's a good cable car, but it did stop on the way back, half way across (it takes a couple of minutes) and not only does it bounce up 20m and down 20m (I didn't notice that part) but it also swings forwards and backwards greatly!!! to the point that I was glad I was holding on to the hand rail and a couple of ladies had to sit down! That'll be fun when it is fully of people and skis!!
I hope you all had a good Christmas....having skied on Xmas eve, I went to dinner with the staff, and then on Xmas day visited all my chalets in the morning and went skiing with some guests in the afternoon and had dinner in their chalet......It's a bit weird though, as with no TV there is no commercial aspect to Xmas here, so it could almost pass you by! I'm looking forward to New Year....we've swapped our day off to Thursday, which means we can all go out on the razzle and not have to work the next day!
I'm not really sure what else to tell you... I'm really enjoying things, and there have been a couple of slightly stressful days, but nothing compared to life at Avaya, and the people are fab, and being in the mountains and out an about all the time is really good.... I may be hooked!!
Bye for now....I'm going to check out your blogs to see what you've all been up to!
