Back in Blighty....
Bonjour mes amis... oops, no, have to stick to English, and remember to drive on the left side of the road.... yes, I'm back, and having a bit of a mad dash as I start work at Delta in Addlestone on Tuesday, so just enough time to do several loads of washing, unpack all my summer/work clothes that I stored in the loft, realise that I've developped more of a CGB (chalet girl's bum) than I'd thought, and can't get into half of them, and do a few other things then it'll be straight into work.....I'm quite looking forward to it, and the challenge of reducing my CGB ASAP and then next season I'll have to be much better.... and yes that does mean that I have every intention of returning to La Plagne next winter to do another season... it was just such fun!!
Anyhow, it's late, so I'll sign off for now, but will attempt to keep this more updated, both during the summer and next winter... I may have to rename this blog slightly, or at least my subheading, as that is definitely out of date!

The Final Countdown!!
Well, can you believe it , 1 week to go!! The last guests have arrived, the last transfer from Lyon into resort has been completed!! And what a way to end... we had 20-30cm of snow on Tuesday night: more like February than April! It then continued to snow on Wednesday, and being day off I decided to follow Gerwyn and the Bon Coin massive off piste, along with the other resort manager Barbara.... well Barbara could vaguely keep I with them, but I was pretty useless and got very annoyed with myself, and threw a paddy (as those who know me can imagine, I'm sure...!!) Anyway, Gerwyn then suggested I get a lesson as his attempts at teaching me where not exactly successful, so on Thursday, Barbara and I had a lesson for an hour and a half; the conditions were superb - glorious sunshine and still loads of powder to be had, so we had an excellent time, and are now of course experts - NOT!!! but no, it was so much better than the day before, and in Barbara's words, "I was really going for it" which roughly translates as I fell over quite a few times!!! So I've had a slightly stiff neck and knackered leg muscles, but it was totally worth it.... Unfortunately Friday and Saturday were snowy and rubbish visibility, so we were unable to practice our new found skills, and the sun has decided to come out today, transfer day... I'm hoping it will hang in this week and we'll get a glorious last weeks' skiing.....
And then it;s back to Blighty... and back to Delta to temp for about 6 months, before returning for more of the same!! I could quite get use to this!
Anyway, time to dash... still fighting with hotmail, so apologies for no emails....am looking forward to catching up with you all soon
xx
