February 29th....

Well, thought I'd make an entry today, as it's not often we get a Feb 29th....in fact I need to wish Jonathon Marshall a happy birthday as he's a Feb 29th baby... and for Duncan for yesterday, and for Dad tomorrow.

It's been absolutely freezing here the past couple of days... something like -20° to -30°.... seriously cold!!!! I had a bit of a naf transfer today as well... nothing in particular went wrong, I just found myself starting to go up the twisty mountain roads before I'd finished my paperwork which meant I started feeling queasy - not good!! Anyway, I survived intact, but having been awake since 3,45am, with absolutely no sleep - and I mean none, not even a little doze or shut eye - I'm ready for bed!!
I'll write more soon... only about 7 weeks to go!

It's a girl!!

Congratulations to Suzanne and Chris on the birth of their daughter Mia, who according to my sources (mum and dad) arrived at 8am this morning weighing 7lbs and 2ozs....Chris hasn't yet updated their web site, but I'm sure that's the last thing on his mind at the moment... if anyone has any updates, keep me posted!!

Hello again Bloggers....

Hi all. Still having a good time... since I last wrote I have done a Parapente flight.... this involved voluntarily jumping off the side of a mountain!!! Luckily the parachute did it's job, as did the instructor, and I had a fab 10 minutes floating over La Plagne... definitely worth a go!
Tonight it's the Playstation Big Air event at La Plagne, which basically means borders, skiers and bike/boarders doing crazy jumps and hopefully landing in one piece, so I'm off to watch that in a moment. I've had a lovely day skiing with some guests and one of the social skiers, and despite it being half term, we managed to avoid too many crowds!
JP, Derek et al from our Reberty holiday arrived yesterday and I had dinner with them in their chalet.... despite having their wives and children with them, they are exactly the same and I had a fab evening... shame Claire H wasn't with us and then we could really have relived some of last year's antics...their wives pretended to be offended but the reality is they know that the guys are all talk and nothing more! I think this year's chalet hosts are going to have an interesting week, and they were already taking the mickey out of 18 year old Jack!!
I'm going to have to go now as I'm running out of credit! I'll be back again soon!

A neglected Blog....

Hello all, yes I am still alive, I've just been absolutely rubbish at getting ånywhere near an internet cafe to update my blog!! Well all is going really well - we had a gorgeous week last week, really sunny and temperatures like spring not February! I'm even starting to get a bit of a skiers tan, ie sunglasses marks! Panda eyes here we come! But the snow has returned, thank goodness, as really it was getting a bit too warm! But other than that things carry on as usual. I've been able to get out skiing loads, and on Wednesday I dragged another manager across to Les Arcs and made her go down some black runs.... and I mean proper black runs [!!]..... actually over in Les Arcs I think they are easier than elsewhere, but our cockyness did mean that we ended up on one black run that was a total mogul field and was pretty difficult!!
However, my moguls were nothing compared to the European Mogul championships that were held on Friday night here in Plagne Centre... a whole piste of moguls interspersed with the occasional jump .... I'm surprised those guys have any knee joints left at the end of it!!!

I've just found out that the 6 guys that Claire and I holidayed with last year in Reberty are out next week with their families, taking over 2 chalets, so that will be a good laugh, although they may be on their best behaviour as they are with wives and children!!!

I hope all is going ok back in the UK [or Japan] and that Suzanne and Lisa's bumps are behaving themselves... I promise to write again soon, but I've been up since 4 am as it's Sunday and am en route to dinner in Chalet boulevard, before heading back to the pub! Oh what a hard life!

I promise not to neglect my blog for so long again!!!
xx
